Day 1 – Arrival in Shimla
Welcome to the Himalayas! Upon your arrival in Shimla, our team will warmly welcome you and assist with your hotel check-in. This is a great opportunity to meet your fellow travelers and the expedition team before the adventure begins.
We recommend arriving early in the day so you have plenty of time to relax and acclimatize before starting your Spiti Valley 4×4 Car Expedition.

Day 2 – Shimla to Bagi
Day 2 – Shimla to Bagi
After breakfast, we begin our journey from Shimla to Bagi, covering approximately 80 km in 5–6 hours. As we leave the city behind, the road winds through beautiful Himalayan forests, charming mountain villages, and scenic landscapes.
Along the way, we will visit the famous Hatu Mata Temple, one of the highest and most scenic viewpoints in the region. Surrounded by dense cedar forests, the temple offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges.
After exploring Hatu Peak, we continue our drive to Bagi, where we will check in to our hotel and relax for the night before continuing our Spiti Valley 4×4 Car Expedition.

Day 3 – Bagi to Sangla
After breakfast, we continue our journey from Bagi to the beautiful Sangla Valley, covering approximately 180 km. Today’s drive takes us through some of the most scenic sections of the Himalayas, following the Sutlej River before entering the breathtaking Kinnaur region.
Along the way, we will pass the famous Tranda Dhank, one of the most spectacular mountain roads in Himachal Pradesh. Carved into the cliffs high above the Sutlej River, this dramatic stretch offers incredible views and is one of the highlights of the day’s drive.
By evening, we arrive in Sangla, where we will check in to a comfortable glamping resort surrounded by the majestic Himalayan mountains.

Day 4 – Sangla Valley to Tabo
After breakfast, we begin the day with a scenic drive to Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo–Tibet border. Located just 15 km from Sangla, the drive takes about 1 hour. We will spend some time exploring the village and capturing memorable photos and videos amidst its stunning Himalayan surroundings.
After visiting Chitkul, we retrace our route and continue towards Tabo. Along the way, we pass through the beautiful village of Nako and stop at the spectacular Khab Sangam, where the Spiti River meets the Sutlej River—one of the most iconic viewpoints on the journey into Spiti Valley.
By evening, we arrive in Tabo, home to one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayas, and check in to our hotel for the night.

Day 5 – Tabo to Pin Valley
After breakfast, we begin the day by visiting the historic Tabo Monastery, one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayas and a UNESCO World Heritage Tentative Site. Known for its ancient murals, sculptures, and meditation caves, it is one of the cultural highlights of Spiti Valley.
From Tabo, we continue to the spectacular Dhankar Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff overlooking the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers. The monastery offers breathtaking panoramic views and offers a fascinating insight into the rich Buddhist heritage of the region.
Leaving Dhankar behind, we drive into the stunning Pin Valley National Park, a region famous for its rugged landscapes, traditional villages, and unique Himalayan culture. We will visit Kungri Monastery, the oldest monastery in Pin Valley, before continuing to Mud Village, the last inhabited village in the valley and a gateway to some of the region’s most scenic trekking routes.
After exploring Mud Village, we return to our traditional homestay in Pin Valley, where you’ll enjoy authentic Spitian hospitality and a peaceful evening surrounded by the majestic mountains.

Day 6 – Pin Valley to Kaza
After an early breakfast, we leave Pin Valley and drive towards Kaza, the vibrant headquarters of Spiti Valley. Today’s journey is filled with some of the most iconic landmarks and breathtaking landscapes in the region.
Our first stop is the famous Key Monastery, the largest and most important Buddhist monastery in Spiti Valley. Perched on a hilltop, the monastery offers spectacular panoramic views and provides a fascinating insight into the region’s rich Buddhist culture.
Next, we visit Kibber Village, one of the world’s highest permanently inhabited villages connected by a motorable road. The village is known for its traditional mud houses, stunning mountain scenery, and unique Himalayan lifestyle.
We then continue to the remarkable Chicham Bridge, one of Asia’s highest suspension bridges, spanning a dramatic gorge and offering incredible views of the rugged Spiti landscape.
After a day of exploration, we arrive in Kaza, where we check in to our hotel and relax for the evening.

Day 7 – Explore Kaza & High-Altitude Villages
Today is dedicated to exploring some of the highest inhabited villages in the world and experiencing the unique culture of Spiti Valley.
After breakfast, we drive to Langza, a picturesque village famous for its giant Buddha statue, ancient marine fossils, and spectacular views of the Chau Chau Kang Nilda Peak. From here, we continue to Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office, where you can send a postcard to your family and friends from one of the most remote post offices on Earth.
Our next stop is Komic, one of the world’s highest motorable villages. We will visit the historic Komic Monastery and enjoy a delicious lunch, including the village’s famous homemade pizzas—a unique culinary experience in the Himalayas.
After exploring these remarkable villages, we return to Kaza. In the evening, you’ll have free time to stroll through the lively Kaza Market, where you can shop for local handicrafts, souvenirs, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Spiti’s main town.

Day 8 – Kaza to Chandratal Lake
After an early breakfast, we depart from Kaza and begin our journey towards the breathtaking Chandratal Lake, one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes in the Himalayas.
Our first stop is the peaceful village of Losar, the last inhabited village in Spiti Valley before crossing the high mountain pass. Here, we take a short break to enjoy a refreshing cup of tea before continuing our journey.
The drive then takes us over the spectacular Kunzum La Pass (4,590 m), one of the highest motorable mountain passes in India and the gateway between Spiti and Lahaul. As per local tradition, we will stop at the Kunzum Mata Temple to seek blessings for a safe journey.
From Kunzum La, we take the off-road trail leading to the stunning Chandratal Lake, also known as the Moon Lake. Surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks, the crystal-clear lake is one of the highlights of the entire expedition. We will spend time exploring the lake, capturing photographs, and visiting a few hidden scenic spots nearby.
As the sun sets, we head to our Swiss camp near Chandratal for an unforgettable night under the stars in the heart of the Himalayas.

Day 9 – Chandratal to Jispa
After an early breakfast, we leave the beautiful Chandratal Lake and begin our journey towards Jispa, one of the most scenic villages in the Lahaul Valley.
Our route takes us through the rugged landscapes of Batal, a popular stop for adventure travelers, before continuing towards Koksar, the first village in the Lahaul region. As we descend into the lush green valleys, the scenery changes dramatically from the barren mountains of Spiti to the fertile landscapes of Lahaul.
We continue our drive through the picturesque village of Sissu, known for its stunning waterfall and breathtaking Himalayan views, before passing Keylong, the administrative headquarters of the Lahaul region.
By evening, we arrive in Jispa, a peaceful village nestled along the banks of the Bhaga River. After checking in to our hotel, you can relax and enjoy the serene mountain surroundings.

Depending on road, weather, and group conditions, we’ll take you to a hidden location that offers an unforgettable off-road adventure and spectacular Himalayan views. We like to keep this experience a surprise, making it one of the most memorable moments of the expedition.
After enjoying the surprise destination, we continue our journey towards Manali, descending from the high mountains into the lush green valleys of Himachal Pradesh. Upon arrival, we check in to our hotel and spend the evening relaxing or exploring the vibrant town at your leisure.
