Bhutan Motorcycle Tour: Ride the Last Himalayan Kingdom

Bhutan measures itself in Gross National Happiness, admits only a fraction of the visitors its neighbours receive, and does not allow independent foreign riders — every motorcycle that crosses the kingdom does so on a licensed, guided expedition. The reward for that exclusivity: empty mountain roads, forests that cover 70% of the country, dzong fortresses above every river confluence, and passes strung with prayer flags where the only traffic is the occasional yak. The expedition is rated Moderate. The main challenge is not extreme altitude but the combination of mountain roads, hairpins, elevation changes and consecutive riding days.

No. You arrive via Bagdogra and finish near Guwahati, creating a west-to-east crossing of Bhutan.
